Welcome To The Band

We would like to introduce two new fantastic performers to the Johnny Cash Roadshow lineup for 2010; Alan Parker on Double Bass and James Elliot-Williams on Drums.

Alan started playing the accordion and guitar at 12 years of age, the Bass at 14 and joined his first band at 15, since then he has been playing in Blues, Rock and Country bands in pubs, universities and festivals all over England and Scotland.

Being an experienced musician Alan has featured on various band albums over the years and still contiues to work on recording sessions alongside his live performances.

James has played drums and percussion for over 20 years and has performed with a great many bands and artists. From theatre pit work to heavy rock, performing on television shows, festivals, stadiums, theatres and everywhere else in between as well as recording on a number of song releases. James has toured extensively across Europe and the UK. Recent work has seen James playing percussion on an album & gigs with a northern soul band and recording two EP’s for a signed indie act. In the 1990’s James was signed to a London based publishing company (Gabra Music) and received a number of writing credits.

James has worked with Clive on a number of occasions over the last 15 years and the opportunity to perform together playing the music of Johnny Cash is one that James is delighted to have.

The 2010 lineup for the Johnny Cash Roadshow tribute band is Clive John, Nick Davis, Alan Parker, and James Elliot-Williams.

Picture Perfect!

We have updated the Press Pack area of our site - have a look and see what you think.

This area will expand over the coming months to include a variety of photos, logos, audio and video examples, biography, etc. Currently available are the Johnny Cash Roadshow montage pic (right), A4 leaflet, and a selection of logos, band and band members photos.

For your convenience we have included the embed code so you can easily insert the images you like into your website, blog, MySpace, etc. Simply copy the code in the grey box under the picture you'd like to use and paste it into your page.

Fundraising For Acorns. So Far...

Following our sell-out Charity Benefit Concert in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice at the Malvern Forum Theatre in January, we had two sold out theatre shows in Hereford and Solihull.

All of these shows have had very generous audiences - thank you - and, now that we have had confirmation from Acorns, we can announce that our current fund raising effort has raised £6,349.41 for the charity.

We continue to raise as much money as possible for our official charity, particularly with the current financial climate, at our shows, special events, and from the sale of the Acorns' Song CD.



Clive wrote this song especially for Acorns and all proceeds from the sale of the CD and MP3 downloads will go to Acorns.

The CD, and MP3 downloads, are available to buy from MixdupStore.

Thank You To Our Generous Audience

Today we have had confirmation from Acorns that the amount donated by our audience at our Johnny Cash tribute band charity concert was a whopping £371.76!

Thank you to everyone who came to the show and gave to this wonderful charity.

This amount has now been added to our total on our Just Giving webpage and it brings the total raised so far to £2,903.54. This figure does not yet include money from the profit of the Malvern Forum Theatre show, "Make the Most of Every Day" CD sales, etc.

Charity Show Is Sold Out!

Absolutely fabulous news that we received from the Malvern Theatres box office today - our charity show in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice on 15th January is sold out!

This is really fantastic. All the hard work that has gone into this show by so many people (Ivan, John, Karen, Dave, Ash, Sophie, just to mention a few) has been rewarded by a sell-out event and means more money going to Clive John & Johnny Cash Roadshow's charity.

If you have bought a ticket, thank you so much. We look forward to performing a great show for you.

Almost a sell out!

This is great news for our efforts to raise £10,000 for Acorns Children's Hospice.

The picture on the right [click to enlarge] is a snapshot of the Malvern Forum Theatre's online booking page for the Johnny Cash Roadshow's Charity Benefit Concert on 15th January 2009. As you can see, there are only a handful of tickets left; ten normal tickets (in green) and seven concession tickets (in black).

Thank You & A Merry Christmas!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Johnny Cash Roadshow Christmas show at the Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove last night.

It was a fantastic night made extremely easy to pull off due to the wonderful and professional team of staff at the theatre under the guidance of duty managers Nick and Dawn. Thank you, in particular, to Chris for making everything work to technical perfection, Tom for the wonderful lighting, and Rob, Dave & Ash for the sound. Dave and Ash are from MixdupMusic (MUM).

Thank you also to all of our kind audience members who gave money to our goal of raising £10,000 for Acorns. (To help us hit our target, which will contribute to providing care for life-limited children, please donate on our Just Giving web page).

This is starting to sound like an Oscars acceptance speech ;-) There are a lot of people involved in making a show happen and thank yous need to be said.

A BIG thank you to Robert Page, our director, for his guidance and coaching. It's hard work but great fun working with him.

A massive thank you to Ivan, Karen, and John, for all of their hard work behind the scenes - they keep the wheels on the tour bus rolling.

We'd also like to thank our Mums, Dads, dogs, pizza delivery guy… okay, Oscars moment over!

Why'd You Do That YouTube???

YouTube is a fantastic service and, let's not forget, it's free!

We just wanted to say a BIG thank you to YouTube for updating there video size to widescreen (16:9) format. Change doesn't always go down too well as it's not what we're used to but, after the initial “Oh S@*%!!!!! Why'd You Do That YouTube???” shock response ;-), we're really happy.

Most of the Johnny Cash Roadshow videos were filmed in 16:9 so they will now appear as intended. So, to answer the title of this post, we'd have to say they did it for the better.

We should have some great footage from our two upcoming Johnny Cash tribute band shows which we'll be adding over the next two months. Tickets for these shows can be bought online at the Artrix Box Office, Saturday 20th December 2008, and the Malvern Theatres Box Office for our Grand Charity Benefit Concert in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice on Thursday 15th January 2009.

Better get your tickets soon as they're almost gone! This is great news, especially for our charity concert.

Clive John's new unplugged version of his song “In A Whisper” has held on to the number 1 slot in the British & Irish Top 10 HotDisc chart for a second week.

This acoustic mix has also risen to No.3 in the Hotdisc Top 20 Chart (No.4 last week) and No.4 in the Hotdisc Top 40 Chart (No.5 last week).

As well as the usual superb Cash songs that Clive and the band will be performing, it will also be the debut public performance of "Make The Most Of Every Day". Clive has written this song exclusively for, and dedicated to, the Acorns Children’s Hospice. The song will be recorded live at the show and be available to buy via digital download from www.johnnycashroadshow.com with all proceeds going to the Acorns Children’s Hospice.

BREAKING NEWS! For the first time Johnny Cash will be performing on stage in the UK with Elvis! We are very excited to announce that our guest artist for this show will be the fantastic Ben Portsmouth as Elvis Presley.

The Johnny Cash Roadshow will complete the tribute to the Man In Black with the lovely Rosie Lee performing as June Carter.
