Welcome To The Band

Johnny Cash Roadshow 2010 LineupWe would like to introduce two new fantastic performers to the Johnny Cash Roadshow lineup for 2010; Alan Parker on Double Bass and James Elliot-Williams on Drums.

Alan started playing the accordion and guitar at 12 years of age, the Bass at 14 and joined his first band at 15, since then he has been playing in Blues, Rock and Country bands in pubs, universities and festivals all over England and Scotland.

Being an experienced musician Alan has featured on various band albums over the years and still contiues to work on recording sessions alongside his live performances.

James has played drums and percussion for over 20 years and has performed with a great many bands and artists. From theatre pit work to heavy rock, performing on television shows, festivals, stadiums, theatres and everywhere else in between as well as recording on a number of song releases. James has toured extensively across Europe and the UK. Recent work has seen James playing percussion on an album & gigs with a northern soul band and recording two EP’s for a signed indie act. In the 1990’s James was signed to a London based publishing company (Gabra Music) and received a number of writing credits.

James has worked with Clive on a number of occasions over the last 15 years and the opportunity to perform together playing the music of Johnny Cash is one that James is delighted to have.

The JCRS website has now been updated, along with the Press Pack section for everything you need to know about who we are and what we do.

The 2010 lineup for the Johnny Cash Roadshow tribute band is Clive John, Nick Davis, Alan Parker, and James Elliot-Williams.

Welcome to the band guys!

Fundraising For Acorns. So Far...

Following our sell-out Charity Benefit Concert in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice at the Malvern Forum Theatre in January, we had two sold out theatre shows in Hereford and Solihull.

Acorns LogoAll of these shows have had very generous audiences - thank you - and, now that we have had confirmation from Acorns, we can announce that our current fund raising effort has raised £6,349.41 for the charity.

We continue to raise as much money as possible for our official charity, particularly with the current financial climate, at our shows, special events, and from the sale of the Acorns' Song CD.

Make The Most of Every Day

Hope springs eternally they say
Life has a funny old way
Of bringing out the best in us and doing all we can
There is faith and there's a love that never fades

You are so beautiful to me
Just one smile is all I need
It brings colour to my life, like a sunrise on the sea
As they say all the best things are free

Make the most of every day
For this world is full of colour
Through the sun and pouring rain
And whatever comes your way
Make the most of every day

This world can really get you down
Inside your head, the questions spin around
And it just doesnt seem fair, and it just dont seem right
But at the end of this tunnel there is light

Make the most of every day
For this world is full of colour
Through the sun and pouring rain
And whatever comes your way
Make the most of every day

I'll be there for you I hope you know
Come rain, wind, thunder, sleet or snow
There ain't nothing in this world that I would not do
To make the most of every moment with you

Lets make the most of every day
For this world is full of colour
Through the sun and pouring rain
And whatever comes your way
Make the most of every day

Make the Most of Every Day

We have uploaded the first live performance of Clive John's song "Make the Most of Every Day", which was written especially for Acorns Children's Hospice.

This wonderful charity provides much needed care for life limited children by running three hospices, and providing care in the community, in the West Midlands, UK.

This performance was recorded at the Johnny Cash Roadshow's grand charity concert, in aid of Acorns, at the Malvern Forum Theatre. We were joined on stage by the wonderful Sytchampton School Choir (6-9 year olds), who also performed on the recording of the song, and Richard Gibson on the piano.

If you would like to help us with our target of raising £10,000 for Acorns then please go to our Just Giving webpage. Thank You.

www.justgiving.com/acornsjohnnycashroadshow

Our total raised so far is £2511.78. This total does not yet include the money raised at our sell-out charity show on 15 January '09. We will add this when we have confirmation.

CDs of the song, which also include a country version of the song, are available to buy from the MixdUpStore with the proceeds going to Acorns. The song is also available to buy as an MP3 digital download.

Purchase your copy of Make the Most of Every Day at the MixdUpStore.

Charity Show Is Sold Out!

Absolutely fabulous news that we received from the Malvern Theatres box office today - our charity show in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice on 15th January is sold out!

This is really fantastic. All the hard work that has gone into this show by so many people (Ivan, John, Karen, Dave, Ash, Sophie, just to mention a few) has been rewarded by a sell-out event and means more money going to Clive John & Johnny Cash Roadshow's charity.

If you have bought a ticket, thank you so much. We look forward to performing a great show for you.

Best wishes,

JCRS

Remember What's Important

Clive, the singer of our tribute band, has just uploaded a video to his YouTube Channel in memory of his friend Chris.

Chris passed away in 2005.

We echo his thoughts at this time of year; remember those who we have lost and cherish those that we take with us into the New Year.
